This young girl was taken to the hospital, unconscious, with a broken leg and bruises all over her body. She died the next day.

Police suspect that she had been severely and repeatedly been beaten by her mother and stepfather.

A’kyri Bell

Details:
A’kyri lived with her cousin, who was her guardian and who also cared for four other children. The children were allegedly made to work at cleaning jobs. Medics called to the house for an unresponsive child who the caller said had “fainted in the bathtub” found A’kyri dead, covered in bruises of varying ages; she had been subjected to blunt trauma for some time, and it had proved fatal.

Camisha McGaskey (Cousin, guardian) is charged with murder, trafficking minors, criminal conspiracy, and obstruction of justice.

Danielle Crosbie-Davidson

Details:
Danielle’s husband was staying in her room during his visit to the assisted living facility where she lived. When she was found dead, with bruising on her neck, her husband was arrested. Staff told police that Danielle’s health had been worsening during the visit, and that he had been acting secretive, locking the door and asking them not to feed Danielle.

According to court documents, her husband confessed to police that he had repeatedly fed Danielle a drink laced with an overdose of narcotic painkillers, and that when this did not kill her, he drugged her with sleeping pills and smothered her with a pillow.

Details:
This baby girl was one of a pair of twin sisters. Her sister, the larger of the pair, was strong and healthy; but the smaller girl was having difficulty eating and was not gaining weight. The twins and their mother lived with their grandmother, and their father visited often. On one of these visits, their father was alarmed to realize that the smaller twin had disappeared.

After a search, the missing baby was located in the bushes around the house, with injuries consistent with a fall, and was declared dead on arrival at the hospital. Police who questioned her mother say she was frustrated with the baby’s illness and confessed to killing the baby by throwing her from the balcony.

Phoebe Bishop

Name: Phoebe Bishop.

Details:
Phoebe was supposed to be boarding a flight, but she never arrived at the airport. Her body was found in a nearby park; she had been murdered. The two people with whom she was living are accused of the crime.

After her mother told reporters that Phoebe was disabled, her aunt claimed that she did not have a disability, but was just “a child who was out of control.” However, Phoebe posted on social media about struggling with relationships due to borderline personality disorder.

Jakob and his mother were both found semiconscious in their house after a “domestic-related incident.” Both were rushed to the hospital, but Jakob never woke up from his coma. When he died three days later, his mother’s attempted murder charge was upgraded to murder.

Esteban Cuello

Details:
Esteban lived with his parents in a suburb of Buenos Aires. His father was a lathe operator who worked in Munro, and his job took him away from the family for twelve hours a day. Esteban’s mother stayed home with him.

Unfortunately, Esteban’s mother was struggling with depression. It ran in the family; his grandmother had died by suicide. She was getting treatment, but, from the testimony of neighbors and friends, was “tired of caring for [Esteban],” and argued constantly with her husband over his long work hours.

Esteban and his mother were found dead from gunshot wounds. Investigators believe she shot him while he was asleep or watching TV, after which he took about five hours to die from a head wound. After shooting herself twice, Esteban’s mother died as well. She left a suicide note in which she blamed her husband for having to travel, saying, “We won’t beg you for more.”

Harihar was a retired revenue inspector who rented out property as a landlord. He had become romantically involved with one of his tenants. The relationship had become contentious, as she reportedly wanted ownership of his property. Police say she poured kerosene on him and set him on fire, and then pretended to try to rescue him, before eventually confessing to the crime. Harihar was rushed to the hospital and then transferred to a specialist center, but he died from his injuries.

Logan Shippy

Details:
Gloria lived in a house with her daughter, two grandsons, and her son-in-law. Her daughter Alma had been having marital problems, and separation was being talked about; Alma had signed over their house to her own daughter, angering her husband.

One afternoon, Gloria’s son-in-law went out rather than staying home with Gloria, who needed a caregiver. Gloria’s son-in-law became angry and allegedly shot Alma, Gloria, and her grandson Fernando fatally. A second grandson, age 44, survived gunshot wounds to the head and chest. Police say that Gloria’s son-in-law confessed to the crimes.

Gloria was a family matriarch who left a legacy of “kindness, resilience, and deep love.” Her family remembers her for her “comforting words, her home-cooked meals, [and] her unwavering support.”
