Details:
Li’s mother thought he would have a tough life after she died; so she killed him by drugging him with sleeping pills and then strangling him.

She had other options, but rejected them all. Li could also have gone to stay with his older brother, but his mother didn’t want to burden her other son. And he was eligible for admission to a welfare home, but she preferred to kill him because she did not think they could care for him as well as she did.

Case status:
Ms. Huang (Mother), found guilty of intentional homicide, given a three-year suspended sentence.

Davarion’s nephrotic syndrome, a kidney disease, should have been easily treatable with medication; but his mother neglected his medical care, often forgetting to give him medication and eventually taking him off medication entirely. He died of an infection related to his untreated nephrotic syndrome.

Kentae Williams

Name: Kentae Williams.

Details:
Kentae’s mother gave him up for adoption because she was only fourteen when she gave birth. The boy stayed with his grandparents until he was taken by children’s services and eventually adopted.

Kentae’s adoptive father beat him with a belt, burned his feet with boiling water, and finally drowned him in the bathtub.

Noah’s mother left him alone at home with his abusive father, and while she was gone, Noah’s father poisoned him with carbon monoxide from the family car. The carbon monoxide seeped into the room where his father had left him, and Noah died of carbon monoxide poisoning.
