Elba’s housemate and caregiver bludgeoned her to death with a hammer and hid her body in the basement. She had given him a place to stay after he got out of jail.

Sherin Mathews

Name: Sherin Mathews.

Details:
Sherin’s adoptive father claimed she had been adopted from India with developmental delays, malnutrition, and an “eating disorder”. When he brought her to the hospital with broken bones, he claimed that she had brittle bones from being malnourished at the orphanage.

Her adoptive father was trying to force her to drink milk at 3 a.m., and choked her to death doing it. He then dumped her body and pretended she had gone missing, before eventually confessing to the killing. The autopsy confirmed that Sherin’s cause of death was “homicidal violence”.

Later, the orphanage came forward and reported that Sherin had not had trouble eating. Her “eating disorder” may have been a fabrication to cover up her murder. She was merely small for her age, a condition called “failure to thrive” which is common in children with difficult backgrounds. The broken bones she had suffered months before her death had nothing to do with malnutrition and everything to do with child abuse.

Megan lived with her boyfriend and girlfriend, who took advantage of her intellectual disability to spend her money and that of her mother, who was also disabled. Shortly after Megan’s mother went into assisted living, Megan disappeared and was found dead and dismembered in a river. During trial, it came out that after an argument, her boyfriend had strangled her while her girlfriend smothered her.

Vanessa’s boyfriend poured gasoline all over her and set her on fire. She managed to escape the house and run into the yard, where a neighbor rushed to her side, put out the fire, and held her hand while they waited for the ambulance. Vanessa died later that day at the hospital.

Jayashree had been bedbound for two months after a stroke. Her son, who cared for her, grew tired of doing so. He took her to the roof terrace of their building and threw her off, trying to pass it off as a suicide. But someone sent an anonymous letter to the police, urging them to investigate further. Police found a CCTV video which revealed that Jayashree did not have the mobility to get over the railing of the terrace herself, and her son was arrested for murder.

When Jesus was found dead on his couch, police decided to investigate because he was much thinner than he should have been, even for a boy with CP, and police were concerned that he had been neglected. During the investigation, it was revealed that he had been denied medical care and not taken to doctors’ appointments, and not fed enough.

Jesus enjoyed listening to music, was a great clapper and loved hugs.

Kayden’s mother remembers him as “just a wee boy who loved playing and loved life.” He was being evaluated for autism when he died.
