Steven was found stabbed to death, with high levels of prescription pain medication in his body sufficient to sedate him and render him helpless. It is believed Steven’s wife, her boyfriend, and a friend thought Steven was “an inconvenience” and planned to kill him. Text messages show that Steven was assaulted by his wife’s boyfriend multiple times before his murder.
